Creator camp x patreon

Back in September 2024, Creator Camp whisked a handful of creators (filmmakers, illustrators, musicians, artists, and other internet oddballs) off to Switzerland for what felt like a summer camp directed by Wes Anderson. Between postcard‑perfect peaks and late‑night brain‑picking sessions, I got to meet the most incredible online storytellers in the World, and swap stories with some of my favourite creators, like Baron Ryan (@americanbaron), who built his entire cinematic universe from the walls of his childhood bedroom.

Fast‑forward to April 2025: Creator Camp joined forces with Patreon to throw their very first Creator Camp Film Festival in Austin, Texas, and Baron was tapped to premiere an original feature film. To celebrate the screening, they asked me to shrink Baron's bedroom down to 1:12 scale.

So I did what any reasonable person would do: binge‑watched his old videos, took frantic notes about how to build a circular room, then spent an unreasonable number of hours turning basswood, foam, led lights, and over 1,000 tiny books into a moody miniature bedroom.

Building this room felt like a love letter to every “bedroom creator” who’s ever balanced a DSLR on a stack of textbooks, recorded voice‑overs under a blanket, or edited until sunrise because they had to get the shot just right. I really love how this turned out, so make sure to check out the fun video about it below!

Here’s to small rooms, big dreams, and the wild places they take us. ‪‪❤︎‬
