BIOGRAPHY
Hi, I’m Marina, a miniature artist, filmmaker, and storyteller based in Montreal, Canada. I create surreal, handmade dioramas that feel like half-remembered dreams. My work blends nostalgia with mystery, often drawing from the eerie charm of late 20th-century suburbia, forgotten spaces, and imagined places that feel oddly familiar.

Before dedicating myself to miniature art full-time, I studied film at Concordia University's Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema and spent nearly a decade working in the film industry on features, television, and commercials. That time deepened my love of visual storytelling, atmosphere, and world-building, all of which now live on in miniature form through my work as "Marina Minis".

Each build is a little stage, lit and styled like a movie set, often filmed or photographed to tell stories that are spooky, cinematic, and sometimes a little silly. I love creating scenes that feel alive, but vacant, like someone just stepped out of frame.

My goal is to spark a sense of wonder and longing in people who see my work, whether they’re encountering it online or collaborating with me on a project.
Welcome to my little world. ♡
